CEMML-documented naval history now available at Library of Congress
Oral histories from veterans who worked on the U.S. Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program are now available through the Library of Congress. Two CSU entities—CEMML and the Public and Environmental History Center—collaborated on collecting the histories. Seventeen veteran interviews collected as part of the NRF Oral History Project are now archived and available on the Library of Congress, Veterans History Project website.

CEMML helps preserve history of nuclear submarines and ships
In the early 1950s, the U.S. Navy was keen on developing nuclear-powered engines to propel submarines and aircraft carriers. Prototyping and testing of these reactors took place at the Nuclear Propulsion Program’s Naval Reactors Facility in Idaho. CEMML has supported the NRF in documenting and preserving the history of this landmark development site and the engineers who worked there.
